Be proud of what you are. Don’t be what you think you should be. Listen to your heart not your mind. And stand up for who you are. The goals that I wanted to reach were to show people that they not the only one going through changes. And showing them that they are not alone. My aspirations were myself because it defines part of me and my life. I made my decisions in course of my work because I felt like people are scared to stand up for who they are because they to worry about what people think. Also what they might say. I select the materials, techniques, and themes because I also wanted to show that I’m not ashamed of who I am and what I bring to the table. It made the art work so meaningful and truthful. It also was to make a point that they should start standing up more and not hiding. The colors I have chosen were to show a powerful meaning piece. It’s a symbol of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender. It shows that just because you love the same gender doesn’t make you weird or different. Just keep on standing up for you. It grew out to my experiences because I kept thinking and worrying about what people had thought about me and what they will say. But I was happy because I’m in love and it shouldn’t matter what gender it is at long as I’m happy. It did get to a point that I realize I should be proud of who I am and how I feel about myself. the challenging thing that I had to do was choosing if I feel comfortable doing this but I end up not caring and share what I had to say in art.
