I did what I did with this work because this is what was asked of me. The teacher asked me and that was how I got into the work. I felt good when the work was going well. Because I felt that I had a good understanding of the assignment. My favorite thing was taking a picture. List of words that communicate my work and values are hard work, success, a positive future. My favorite tool was the camera because I love taking pictures especially when I’m in it, but my hair and clothes have to be done. What I like best is my pose for the picture. When a piece turned out really well means it turned out the way you pictured it in your mind. The color is realistic; real life. I didn’t really do anything differently than what the teacher asked of me. My favorite color is green. When I work with photography I am reminded that I have to be interested in the photo. Or it doesn’t come out well. I begin a piece by thinking of what I’m going to do in the picture like my pose. I know a piece is done when I really, really love the picture and I feel like it really brings out what I’m trying to say. When my work is going well, I am filled with a sense of joy, satisfaction, completion etc. when people see my work. I’d like them to give me their comments about the photo. Success- favorable result; thesaurus- accomplish.
I did this work because that was what was asked of me by the teacher. My goal in life is to become successful and be able to have a great life and take care of my family. Another goal in life is to take every opportunity I have to accomplish my life goal. I make decisions in my work by seeing what is simple for me to do. Then adding a little complex or making it pretty. I select materials sometimes due to my mood, what materials are available for me to choose. Themes depend on the project and the available materials giving to me. Techniques, I don’t really have any techniques.
The work didn’t really grow out of anywhere except paper. I’m exploring who I am in Hunts Point, which is a student of Hyde Leadership Charter School (High School). I’m challenging what else I am other than that, but care to a realization I’m okay with that.
